Comedy (Non-Gaming) Stuff

Before I drifted into the video gaming stuff, I did a load of comedy stuff. Still do sometimes. But they don't pay you to play computer games when you're doing that, so...

Anyway, here's some of the main things I've done over the years:

  • Performed in Brendon Burns' "Perrier" Award-Winning Show,
"So I Suppose This Is Offensive Now?"
    • 2007 - Award-winning run at Edinburgh Fringe Festival
    • 2008 - London run at Soho Theatre
    • 2008 - Live DVD recording in London's West End (video)
    • 2008 - Canadian run at Montreal Just For Laughs Festival
    • 2014 - Out-of-context clip went viral with 12 million+ views.
                     No idea why. (link)
  • ITV Sketch Show "Comedy Cuts"
    • 2008 - Multiple appearances in Series 2
    • 2009 - Multiple appearances in Series 3

(for double act, McNeil and Pamphilon)
    • 2011 - Hackney Empire New Act of The Year

                     (Top 10 EdFringe Shows)
  • Winner: Audience Award at CoFilmic Comedy Festival
    • 2011 - For performance in short film, "The Office Orphan"
  • MTV Prank Show "Flash Prank"
    • 2011 - Regular cast member for MTV prank show (video)
  • Steve and Sam's Silent Sketch Show
    • 2012 - BBC 'Taster' Filmed (video)
  • London Monthly Residency: McNeil & Pamphilon's Sketch Night
    • 2012 - Time Out Critic's Choice
    • 2012 - Recommended by Chortle, Spoonfed, LondonIsFunny
  • Various TV/Radio Stuff

And then I started doing Videogame/Comedy Stuff. The other sections of this site cover all that.

If you want to take a peek at some of the McNeil & Pamphilon stuff we filmed, here's a selection:

And here's one of my favourite gigs ever, with the wonderful Richard Soames. Filmed on a camera phone from the audience, so, SORRY ABOUT THAT I GUESS.

Acting Stuff

Occasionally I also do "proper" acting. You know, like a twat would do. Main bits of that include:

  • Performing in award-winning musical Failed States at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (revived in 2015 for a short west-end run)
  • Devising a new play with Hull Truck Theatre Company, working with John Godber
  • A small role in Michael Attenborough's production of Big White Fog at the Almeida
  • A lead role in the ITV 1 Drama, "Stockwell", which followed the police on the day of the tragic shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes

I also popped up recently in Disney XD show "Life Hacks" as a zombie. I guess technically that was a comedy thing, but I really think I played the "truth" of the character... (see photo, top right). I was a vampire and a yeti too (video). And a couple of years ago I did a voiceover for a James Bond/Heineken commercial (video), which makes no sense whatsoever. I mean, look at the state of me.
